The amazing power of Adobe Bridge CS3 never ceases to amaze me. Not only does it afford me blazing speed, it also puts LOTS of processsing power and versatility at my fingertips.

Of course there are 7 panels with over 60 controls, so "free-handing" is not all that easy. I often use presets that I save in Bridge, and go from there. Still, creating an image with this much "pop" can take quite a while. Here's a link to the original file:

There's a huge difference to the original.. while that's a really good shot, this is.. just amazing! I think the tones here make it look much more magical.. like it's out of a fairytale.. I love it. And the light is so beautiful!

Thank you so much for a comment like that! It really makes me excited to hear that people get the same feeling from an image that I do. A lot of times as the creator, I have quirky favorites that nobody else ends up liking and it bums me out lol. So anyways, thanks!

That's actually a fantastic conversion, the original colour image looks like a snapshot, but you've really pulled it back and made it look fantastic.

Nice sepia hue too. I'm really starting to like sepia and b/w photography. Almost makes colour looks cheap and gaudy.

Hey thanks! Actually I'm using Bridge CS3 to do the conversions these days, so the trick to making it "pop" is to add a little cool (blue) tone to the shadows, while making just the highlights sepia / warm. Or for more "old-school" looks, I can make the shadows green-ish. What do you use to do conversions these days?

Thanks! It's one of my favorite shots, too. I'm glad other people like it, that means a lot to me...

Take care,

I have to say this version is far more impressive than the original, it's actually the photo that caught my eye n I had to look at your work. I like the cropping a lot better on this version, it feels more warm and inviting; that and I'm a sucker for black/white (sepia n bronze tones too). Absolutely wonderful picture.
