Magenta sunset glow on clouds and water ~ Corona Del Mar state beach, January 2006.
Nikon D70 + 24-85mm AFS @ 24mm @ f/11 & 5 sec.
2 stop Cokin GND filter, NEF dual-processed in CS2, no PP.

It may not snow or get too cold here where I live, but the sunsets during December and January are just magnificent. If the clouds are just right in the sky, and if the atmosphere isn't too smoggy, (translation: going out in the rain) ...the sunsets can be so fiery that one's digital camera can hardly handle the explosion of color. This shot was taken the day after my birthday, January 18th, and it was a much better gift than any photo equipment I could ever wish for. I love winter in Soutern California!!

This is an entrant in the "Winter Dream" contest.

Thanks! I love blurring water, it's definitely one of my "favorite things to do" in photography.

This really is just stunning. The colours are amazing, but I love the water in the foreground. Good stuff. Good luck on the contest.

Really beautyful, the blurry water is just a photographyc process?? or should be modified with and edition program?.. excuse my ignorance, i would like to learn it.

Note that the exposure was 5 seconds. That explains the blur I think. ;)
