Wedding Photo adCast, wow!

Sun Jul 15, 2007, 4:20 PM
Wow, dA really liked this photo! I bought an adCast with the image in it, and all 500 clicks sold in like four days...

First I have to say thanks! I'm flattered that the photo is that good. I thought it would take me for-EVER to get to 500 clicks...

Secondly, I have to mention that if you really liked any of the nature / landscape photos in my gallery, you can have one for free! All you have to do is refer a bride and groom in my direction, and when they book, you get a free mounted, matted print, even a panorama if you want. I can go up to 30" with most of my work, too!

I really recommend getting nature photography prints through me anyway, because to be honest i hate to mount rolled up, (tubed) curly prints. It always results in a couple of creases or wrinkles in the print, no matter how careful you are.

Personally what I do is order my prints from a high-end lab, (WHCC) and have them mounted in the lab and shipped to me flat, ready to mat and frame...

Anyway, take care all!

Set the wayback machine...

Going through all my older weddings from years past to make my portfolio stronger and more complete, I came across quite a few really nice photos that I either never thought twice about or didn't have the power to process correctly back then.  Here's a few of my favorite photos from over the years, hopefully most which you haven't seen yet:

(This bride just announced a baby on the way, congrats!!!)

I like the look on his face.  "You're gonna pin THAT on me?"

(From my first wedding ever, woohoo!)

Getting away from the party for a minute.  I think the juxtaposition of the engagement photo completes the element of humor...

Hehe I just love noticing those split seconds that are just perfect...

...Like this one, too.  Cake tumbled down the front of her dress, noooo!

(If my friends do this to my car at my wedding, I will call a limo.  Seriously hahaha!)

Speaking of weddings, I got engaged a few weeks ago!!!

Take care,
-Matt-

Earth Day Art Show: see my photos!

Wed Apr 19, 2006, 2:58 PM

Listening to: Riven Soundtrack

It's been a while since I've had time to upload any work. In fact, my regular backing up of images to DVD has been delayed a month because I have so many photos from last month that I never even looked at. I've uploaded three of them today, and I'll try and upload some more when I find time.

Right now I am cutting mat and mounting pictures like a madman, in an attempt to get ready for an Earth Day event, of which you can get details here: [link] It should be a really cool event because the whole "Camp" area is themed for the outdoors and nature, making it the perfect place for an Earth Day event. Of course, hopefully I'll sell a few photos!

I'll have numerous 5x7", 8x10", and 10x15" prints for sale, and MAYBE a 12x36" print of my panorama that will be entered in Londonxpress' PANO CONTEST here: [link]

The prints are a collection of all my best nature work, including photos such as:

I'd better get back to cutting mat now, I have less than 72 hours left!

Take care,
-Matt-

Ridiculously Sick

Tue Apr 4, 2006, 12:04 PM

Listening to: On Your Way - The Album Leaf

I've been very sick with the flu for the past 6 days, it's  really feisty virus you might say...

I finally got a prescription for some anti-biotics filled yesterday; I think I'll get better some time this week.  Heh.

Anyway.  I've been a few places.  Like the Grand Canyon in a freak snow storm, and Catalina Island for a Venture Challenge.  (an insane 48 hour outdoor endurance race on foot, bike, and kayak...)  Enjoy, while I have another caughing fit and go to sleep for another 14 hours!

D70 @17mm, handheld.  NEF in CS2.

CLARIFICATION: The Grand Canyon's "top", the rim, is at an elevation of over 7,000 feet.  So yes, it does indeed snow there.  lol.

D70 @ 50mm f/1.8, handheld.  NEF "push processed" in CS2.

D70 @ 17mm, handheld.  JPG.

Take care everyone!  (I'm trying MY darnedest...)

I don't know when I'll be able to post again, but keep an eye out for more Grand Canyon pics soon!
